The ITU, together with the Mexican Ministry of Transport and Communications, organized the Global indicators workshop on community access to ICTs. The workshop reviewed community access indicators, definitions, collection, methodology and dissemination.

The aim of the meeting was to improve statistical coverage of community access, especially for national regulators and statistical offices responsible for compiling market statistics, in order to target policies. It primarily intended for those responsible for telecommunication/ICT statistics in telecommunication-related ministries, regulatory agencies and national statistical agencies, as well as for national administrations, international organizations and development agencies involved in the topic.
