UNCTAD and the Thai National Statistical Office (NSO) have initiated a joint research project to measure the impact of the adoption and use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) on the productivity of Thai firms.
In this context, a training course on applying econometric methods to ICT data analysis took place in Bangkok from 17th to 23rd January. This followed a conference held on 16th January on 'Measuring ICT', chaired by the Secretary-General of the NSO, Ms Thananoot Treetibput. The NSO will work during the first semester of 2007, with the technical assistance of UNCTAD, to analyse the impact of ICT on Thai firm productivity.
