The consultative workshop concentrated on issues for African countries but that also affect other regions. In particular, it discussed:

• The UIS proposed ‘core’ international indicators for Education
• The initial results of the UIS pilot international survey on ICTs in Education
• UIS work with the UNESCO Information for All Board on indicators for information literacy and ‘access to information’
• National requirements for indicators and capacity building
• Future activities/priorities for UIS in these subjects
