The Workshop on ICT Measurement for the Knowledge Economy was held at the Ashok Hotel in Chankyapuri, New Delhi, India. It was co-organized by the Department of Information Technology (DIT) under the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology, Government of India, in collaboration with the Organization for the Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD).

The Workshop prepared a road map for ICT measurement in India. It discussed ICT data and indicators being collected internationally, the need for new ICT data and indicators in the light of India's National E-Governance Plan, the use of ICT data and indicators in policy making, and capacity building for ICT measurement.

The workshop was addressed primarily to Indian policy makers responsible for ICT governance, representatives of Industry Association, Academia, Ministries and regulatory agencies, who are regular producers and/or users of ICT data.
