The Partnership assists statistical agencies in developing countries in their ICT data collection and dissemination efforts, including the development of national databases to store and analyse survey results.

Partners run technical workshops at the regional level to exchange national experiences and discuss methodologies, definitions, survey vehicles and data collection efforts.

The Partnership's Task Group on Capacity-building (TGCB), led by UNCTAD, conducted a stocktaking exercise on capacity-building requirements in developing countries and also compiled a roster of experts on ICT statistics. This information provides the basis for the Partnership's capacity-building activities, at the national, regional, and international levels.

In order to improve the availability of internationally comparable statistics on ICT for development, this technical assistance must be combined with a commitment of countries to implement the recommended core list of ICT indicators.
