Collaboration with the Thai NSO
UNCTAD and the Thai National Statistical Office (NSO) carried out a joint research project to measure the impact of the adoption and use of Information and Communications Technologies (ICT) on the productivity of Thai firms.
In this context, a training course on "Applying Econometric Methods to ICT Data Analysis" took place in Bangkok from 17-23 January 2007. The training followed a conference held on 16 January 2007 on 'Measuring ICT', chaired by the Secretary-General of the NSO, Ms Thananoot Treetibput.
During the first semester of 2007, the NSO worked closely with UNCTAD to analyse the impact of ICT on Thai firm productivity, based on microdata analysis. The resulting publication was launched in May 2008. Click here for the publication (*.pdf).
