In April 2009, and for the sixth year in a row, UNCTAD sent its questionnaire on the use of ICT by enterprises and on the ICT sector to National Statistical Offices worldwide. Each year, the number of surveyed countries, and of respondents, has increased.
The questionnaire, which is based on the revised core list of ICT indicators, has evolved to improve the quality and comparability of the data received from countries. If you're a national statistical office and you would like to participate in this data collection exercise, please download and fill in the questionnaire below, and send it to emeasurement@unctad.org.
The questionnaire is in Excel format and is available in four languages:
The data collected by UNCTAD is used for researching and analysing, with a focus on developing countries:
- The trends in the adoption and usage of ICT by enterprises;
- The impact of ICT on enterprise productivity and on GDP growth;
- The development of the ICT sector.
The survey results are used to feed an UNCTAD database that includes publicly available data from other international organizations, such as OECD and Eurostat.
The data and research results are published in the annual Information Economy Report.
